FRIntegrative musculoskeletal care · Geneva
A person-centred approach connecting clinical history, movement, tissues, function and medical context to build a coherent musculoskeletal rehabilitation strategy.

At IMG Clinic, integrative medicine describes a clinical reasoning framework applied to pain, movement and functional recovery. It does not set conventional medicine against complementary approaches; it connects useful information and identifies when medical coordination is needed.
Assessment brings together your history, activities, movements that aggravate or ease symptoms, clinical examination and, when it adds relevant information, musculoskeletal ultrasound. A plan may then combine medical massage, manual therapy, active rehabilitation, neurosegmental work and selected physical technologies.
Integration does not mean using more techniques. Each intervention should answer a clinical question, respect contraindications and be reassessed through meaningful outcomes such as mobility, sleep, load tolerance, work, independence or a progressive return to sport.
02 · IMG CLINICAL REASONING
The IMG strategy follows a simple, testable progression: assess, map, treat and reassess.
Understand the history, medical context, symptoms, current capacity and the goals that matter to you.
Connect movement, tissues, muscular protection, neurosegments and relevant functional factors.
Select one intervention or a reasoned combination, with dosage adapted to safety and sensitivity.
Measure immediate and functional response to continue, modify, space or stop what was proposed.
03 · CLINICAL PATHWAY
The pathway remains individual: the same pain label does not automatically justify the same treatment.
Identify the main limitation and the situations in which it appears.
Distinguish what needs medical review, what may change through rehabilitation and what should be monitored.
Sequence manual treatment, exercise, advice and technology without stacking unnecessary modalities.
Track changes that matter in real life, not only pain intensity for a few minutes after treatment.

05 · FAQ
No. It complements care when rehabilitation is appropriate and supports coordination with a doctor or specialist whenever diagnosis, investigation or a medical decision is required.
Integrative medicine describes the wider framework connecting information and disciplines. Integrative rehabilitation is its functional application to movement, capacity and return to activity.
No. A modality is proposed only when it fits the examination, your goals and the safety profile. A simpler strategy is often preferable.
Yes. They can inform the context, but they are interpreted alongside symptoms and function rather than treated as an automatic explanation for pain.
